    May faves are:

I’m quite confused on how to call her, whether she has developed to a Pop Queen or is a Pop Teen Princess yet, since she looks quite cute and very young on the cover of her latest album. A lot younger than she does on her Taking Flight and Becoming looks.

If you don’t know whom I’m talking about, I’m here about to discuss Sarah Geronimo, one of the most awesome singers and actress Abs-Cbn is holding. A treasure that the whole Philippines is proud of due to her local and international success in the past few years.Sarah Geronimo Just Me Album

I need to admit the fact that I’ve been very much disappointed about her Taking Flight Album, her cuteness was totally transparent on that said album (except for the single IKAW which was a quite awesome hit on Myx). Besides IKAW and TIME TO LET Go, there wasn’t much to talk about that album from my point of view. Unlike the prior Becoming, which was a definite powerhouse with one of her all time bests, Carry My Love.

But now, let’s leave the odds and endeavors of her prior history in terms of music behind. Sarah Geronimo’s Music Career now runs towards its fifth year and her fifth Album, Just Me. The album was released just this September 12, 2008 and is running H-O-T nationwide; I mean it. It’s on fire! And I’m proud to say, a lot of factors lead to its unflagging success at the present.

One of the hottest topics in town on a lot of websites is the single I’ll Be There which is track number one of the album, featuring Back Street Boys member Howie Dorough) and indeed, the promising criticism is worth it, and the song proves itself to be deserving the positive feedback it got from the crowd. The Popsters (that’s how Sarah Geronimo fans call themselves) are now awaiting the premiere of this carrier single of her album on Myx to start voting it straight through to the top of the charts. Could this be another pretty upset just like IKAW has marked its signature in Philippine Music History last year?

I used to be one of the avid addict posting Popsters on her Forums (the reason why I tried building my own and then ended up blogging), and I have to be honest, I didn’t knew about this album until a couple of hours ago when I glanced over the music store and noticed a familiar face, Sarah Geronimo covered in a new blue style, and I just went “Oh, it’s a new album that I really must have right now!” And here I am now, in possession of one of the many copies that have been sold already.

The song that caught most of my attention was the tagalog song entitled “Dahil Minahal Mo Ako” which is the 3rd track on the album. I’ll be keeping you on track with lyrics and with more information about the album and the songs inside it, and of course of the singers whenever there are new buzzers heating up.

That’ll be all for now, and hey guys, this album is a definite must have for all OPM Lovers and for all Sarah Geronimo supporters, go, grab a copy now!

Titik Pilipino Album Review by Lorelie Dino

Coming from a very talented artist, this album containing 16 tracks is worth every peso you spend on it. Sarah Geronimo delivers a good package with her full voice. Unlike other singers who perform exaggerated calisthenics and overly strain their vocal chords, Sarah is a pleasure to listen to. With this CD, she brings in more flavor from her earlier albums. She is no longer the tweetums girl. She is getting funkier and more sophisticated, evident from her latest tracks.

The only minor thing I found less appealing was the lyrics booklet front cover attire. It seemed like all the outfits were thrown together, just for the sake of wearing it. Perhaps too much layering was done for that look. Overall, the CD was nicely designed. It is simple and projects the album title itself, "Just Me."

With Christian de Walden behind the making of this album, he brings together Sarah G. with Howie Dorough of worldwide phenomenon, the Backstreet Boys. This gives us a very fine taste from both amazing talents. "I’ll Be There" is a lively, sweet duet. It is an excellent choice as carrier track. The lyrics may be cheesy, but that is what brings out the cuteness factor in the song. It has a catchy beat. This is my fave because it reminds me of a Britney Spears’ song from one of her earlier albums. I am a Britney fan. With this analogy, it leaves no doubt then that Sarah is indeed the Philippines’ Pop Star Princess.

"Dahil Minahal Mo Ako" is the next single. It has an engaging melody and good rhyming. You can hear soothing messages from "Where Only Angels Fly" and "One Little Kiss." This comes from the well-done instrumentation on the said tracks and cool vocal delivery of Sarah. "You’re The Love Of My Life" and "Sweet Memories" give a glimpse to the maturity in her, both vocally and her growth.

This album offers quite a good number of songs. "Silence," "Just Me," "Played," and "Movie Love" are the funky tunes. There is a wide range of contributing renowned composers. Unlike others who only keep on doing cover songs, this one is innovative. "Just Me" from Sarah Geronimo offers fresh, new tracks to your delight.

PSEP ALBUM REVIEW: Sarah Geronimo's "Just Me"
    by: Rhia D. Grana

    Sarah Geronimo's "Just Me"
If only to judge from her singing and the cuts in her fifth album titled "Just Me," Sarah, who turned 20 this year, is ready to fall in love. She renders all 16 tracks in her album with just the right emotion in her sweet, melodious voice.

Without a doubt, Sarah's vocally gifted, and in this album, it's good to hear that she displays this without trying too hard. Anyway, she doesn't need to prove anything. She's already way up there.

"Just Me" tackles love in various levels and intensities. And this time, Sarah sings her age. She has grown mature--as an artist and as a person, unlike a few years back when she was barely in her teens, belting out Celine Dion's "To Love You More."

Like her previous hits, the tracks in Sarah's hew album have easy recall; you can memorize the tune and/or the lyrics with three to four playbacks.

"I'll Be There for You," Sarah's duet with Howie Dorough, is very Backstreet Boy-ish (of course!). It's a fun ditty to sing along with. Only, it reminds me of N'Sync's "Tearing Up My Heart." I don't know, but the song just automatically plays in my head when I heard this first track. Sarah and Howie's voice blends just perfectly. Expect yourself to have the last song syndrome after listening to this.

Sarah's sugar-coated rendition of "Just Me" reveals the Pop Star's playful, flirty side; it actually felt like listening to Madonna's "Fever." She showcases her soulful voice with the R&B track "Silence" and "Played." "Movie Love," on the other hand, adds international vibe to the album.

Of course, there are the cheesy, senti cuts that make for good background in those cry-me-a-river sessions like "Look Inside Ourselves," "Remind Me to Forget You" and "Sweet Memories." I imagine the last song playing while chugging a bottle of beer over a break-up.

For those who are suckers for love songs, there's "What Have You Done to My Heart," "One Little Kiss," "You're the Love of My Life," "I Am Falling," "I Belong To You" and "Where Only Angels Fly."

The songs "Dahil Minahal Mo Ako" is particularly catchy and can be the title of Sarah's next romantic movie, so is "Kahit Mahal Mo ay Iba." (Another Sarah-John Lloyd team-up? Why not?)

With the right mix of songs, "Just Me" is a good listening companion, totally worth your every peso.

The album in general is good. Liked her I'll Be There carrier single, just a little bit ironic ano, kasi Just Me and then ka-duet nya si Howie D. sa carrier single nya....hehehehe! But just the same Sarah again sounds good here. I can totally relate to the song "I'll Be There" because that's exactly the situation that I'm in right now... I hope we (me & him) can make this through.... Back to Sarah, hehehehe! This album is a refreshing album to own after you hear songs on the airwaves just being remaked by various artists, this Artist singing this Artist's Songs, this and that, this and that...... All her songs here are original and it shows that if you work hard in producing an all orginal album, people will tend to take a look at it or listen to it.....And as far as I know it already turned platinum???? From what I read on the threads here..... not exactly sure if there's a factual basis to this na certainly her Just Me Album just turned platinum, if it is, for sure tayong mga Sarah fanatics is again rejoicing for Sarah's success on this very new album. I can honestly say that Sarah's CD is played everyday without fail in our home. NAgsasawa na nga ang mga kasambahay ko kasi yon na lang daw palagi ang pinapatugtog ko, wala akong magagawa addict e, hehehehe!
Her photo shoots included in her album were nicely done and you're right Kevin Paquet that she sure looks younger here than her Becoming album photo shoots, maybe because she wears casual clothes here than her Becoming album where she wore gowns and formal dresses. Sarah is a more mature sounding artist in this album and she tried to veer away from that "birit" style and I think it will do her good than harm. And I think it's about time that she did.
Besides I'll be There I like her Silence Just Me and Dahil Minahal Mo Ako songs in this album. Honestly, I just love all her songs here and i can assure you that buying this album is worth every cents you spend on owning one. And Star is right "dahil Minahal Mo Ako" or "Kahit May mahal Kang Iba" will be a good theme song for another Sarah-John Lloyd movie team.....
So what are you all waiting for? Go to your nearest record bars and own one of Sarah's latest Just Me Album and for sure you won't regret buying one for yourself. smile.gif

after listening to sarah's funkphenomenal album the first time, i sort of understood the (possible) concept behind the layering outfit...

sarah sheds one layer of her versatility one song at a time on this album! spoton.gif it almost feels like listening to a Now compilation, so many facets of sarah's voice, renditions, emotions. really wonderful, remarkable album. the international feel, the songs, the little things that they did to tweak the songs to make it at par with the mainstream US songs.... i am still drinking it all in. smile.gif

    JUST ME...SARAH

Entering an evolution of becoming a full edged young lady, Sarah once again presents the public with another turnaround and refreshing sounds surmounting into the limelight.

The album is packed with 16 tracks of pop, R&B and ballads that has an international sound flavour which is not appreciated well in Sarah’s previous recordings. This album is one that could probably sell across the seas so to say. Sarah had definitely crossed over from being that young star belter tagged as the Philippines’ Pop Princess to being the country’s Pop Superstar as she comes up with more heart and soul in every song she sang in this album. Yes, indeed this album has love and romance as the main meat, typical, but refreshing because it’s Sarah this time.

And as we listen to each track, here’s my penny worth pieces of review for some of my favorites:

I’ll Be There – a savvy duet with Howie, entertaining and obsessively compulsive as you listen along the way, you’ll find yourself singing with it.

I Belong To You – an enthralling soul sound, never heard in any of Sarah’s previous albums, enchanting rhythm perfect for souls in love.

You’re The Love of My Life – a mild ballad classic, though Sarah could have go beyond by belting out the focal part of the song, the mid-tone to low and melodic interpretation gives more depth.

What Have You Done To My Heart – a pretty melodic, wavy, and pop jazz interpretation perfect to feed that crazy wondering heart.

Where Only Angels Fly – probably the most loved in this album, gripping and full of emotions, with the perfect ramp of harmonious stretch all throughout, a certified heartwarming song you could offer to one great love.

Dahil Minahal Mo Ako - certainly a catchy piece that do not sound jukebox but definitively ballad in terms. Sarah had ditched another perfect emotion to give an elevated stance of the song.

I Am Falling - the message is simple yet so strong, another emotion-filled song, I felt like hearing Annie Lennox.

This is a must have album. Sulit talaga. I really enjoyed it. I'm in US and 4 of my American friends bought their copies online. Hehehe... even though they don't understand her 2 tagalog songs, they still love the album. It's definitely a new Sarah.
