The powerful team-up of Judy Ann Santos and Sarah Geronimo filled the restaurant with their inspirational stories they've gone throughout the filming of the anticipated soon-to-be blockbuster hit movie of the year, Hating Kapatid.



ll eyes and ears are on set as the Pop Star Princess, Sarah Geronimo and the Blockbuster Queen, Judy Ann Santos shared their outpouring emotions and sentiments at the press conference held this afternoon at a restaurant at Tomas Morato.




Produced by Viva Films, Hating Kapatid revolves in the relationship of two sisters dealing with the change in the dynamics of their family as their parents went abroad to support their finances. Mel del Rosario, writer of the said movie, pointed out that even the trend of sisterhood is applied in the movie, there is much difference since it prioritizes more on the relationship of the OFWs with the ones left in the Philippines.

Working with one another

The relationship of the Princess and Queen of Blockbuster hits is undeniably close. Judy Ann admitted that she is very fortunate having Sarah as her sister in the movie. “Maganda po itong opportunity na maging kaibigan ko si Ate Juday at makatagpo ng totoong tao dito sa magulong industriya natin”, Sarah revealed when asked how it feels working with Judy Ann.

Direk Wenn Deramas wittingly admitted that this movie shared lots of revelations from its artist, from Juday’s pregnancy up to Sarah’s character transformation in the set.

Rumors foretell that when two big stars combine in the big screen, the outcome will be very unpredictable. Juday conveyed that they would pray for the outcome of the movie. Perfect timing, story itself and the way the story is narrated is Direk Wenn Deramas’ factors to tell if the outcome would be perfect.




Hating Kapatid in real life

The Pinay-proud actresses shared their story on the best thing that siblings should try sharing. “Ang magkapatid, pwede maghati ng love sa kaibigan, pamilya, materyal na bagay, mababaw na kaligayahan, wag lang sa pag-ibig”, Juday laughed at. “Gaya po ng sinabi ni Ate Juday, pwede maghati sa pagmamahalan sa pamilya, may konting selosan, inggitan”, Sarah added.

Judy Ann got emotional when she enounced that one of her biggest fulfillment on sharing something for her sibling is her effort. “Tatlo kaming magkapatid, apat kami kasama si mommy. Kung ano yung kinita ko, automatic na shinishare ko sa kanila. Pinakamasarap yung mapagtapos ko yung kapatid ko. Isa yun sa mga hindi pwedeng makuha ng iba sa kanya.”

Sarah then shared her thoughts on having a fulfilled life. “Kaya ako nagsusumikap ay para sa parents ko. Alam ko na may magagawa ako, bakit di ako kikilos? Marami pong pagbabago sa buhay ko. I’m happy and blessed.”

The cast excitedly announced that they are very willing to attend the premier nights in the international scene but time constraints forbids them to do so. “Titignan natin, kasi baka by that time e I give birth na”, Judy tells the press. “Ako naman po e may shooting po kami para sa bagong teleserye at provincial tours for Record Breaker”, Sarah willfully said.

Judy Anne gave an inspiring message to Sarah. “Lagi ko ngang sinasabi kay Sarah, ‘Try to enjoy life kasi di na pwedeng maibalik yung age niya ngayon. Ang lalaking manloloko, marami diyan pero may isang lalapit sayo na rerespetuhin ka. Importante ang magpahinga. Kapag nagpaapekto ka, mabuburn-out ka sa work mo. Tama lang na ma-enjoy mo ang kinikita mo.”

Judy Ann once had a movie, “Magkapatid”, starring Sharon Cuneta. She then differentiated her relationship with the Mega Star and the Pop Star Princess. “Yung kay Ate Sharon, di ko inexpect na aabot sa punto na minahal ko siya ng sobra sobra. With Sarah, hindi ito yung pagkakaibigan na tinatrabaho. Si Sarah yung hahanap hanapin mo after the shoots. Willing ako maging ate niya.”

Working with the cast

Sarah Geronimo pointed out that working with Luis is very productive. “Masayang katrabaho, mabait, mas gumagaan ang set dahil sa natural na pagkakomedyante niya, makulit. Hopefully, magustuhan niyo ang chemistry naming dalawa.”

Judy Ann, on JC DeVera’s love-team; “ Inadjust naman niya ang edad niya. Parang bumalik lang ako sa Esperanza days ko nun. Mabuti’t si JC ang ka love-team ko dito.”

Direk Wenn on the Cast
“Sa dami ng pelikula na fineature si Vice, iniintroduce padin si siya. Sa ‘Apat Dapat, In my Life, pangatlo na tong iniintroduce siya. Siguro kilalang kilala niyo na siya.”, Direk Wenn jokingly stated. “Maganda itong intro for his Petrang Kabayo. Binigyan ko siya ng magagandang eksena na magiintroduce sa kanya ng tama.”

On Juday’s pregnancy

“Di siya naglilihi. Nung una nga pinagdudahan ko pa, baka ka ko marami lang kinain, pero nung lumabas na yung mukha ng baby, ok na.” Direk Wenn encourage his prod team to limit Juday’s time in shooting. “May cut-off kay Juday. Usapan nga namin sa prod na may cut-off time siya sa shooting. Kinonsider namin na pauwiin siya ng maaga. Yung sa mga heavy scenes nga, may sariling nawasa yung mata at emosyon niya siguro nga dahil sobrang gamay na niya ang craft niya.”

Juday added, “Kahit nung di pa ko buntis, tinitingnan ko na si Sarah. Paganda ng paganda ang bata. Ang naglilihi si Ryan. Gugustuhin ko ulit mabuntis. Wag nga lang ako mainitan."
Juday stayed as an ate to Sarah even behind the shooting scenes as she gave advice about love. “Marami pa siyang makakasalamuha. Di mawawala sa love teams ang madevelop off-screen. Dapat na ipursue ka even after the project, yung kaya kang respetuhin sa buhay. Darating sa puntong hindi mo hinihingi pero meron diyan na pwede ka palang patawanin.” Juday bursted out her stories from her experience. “Wala akong niregret to become a better person. Winelcome ko silang lahat.”

In regards with the exposure, Direk Wenn told the press that the billing was properly designated. “Inassure ko na before ang shooting, walang magrereklamo sa exposure. Wala naman silang problem about that.”

The press conference ended with Sarah’s answer on the issue on settling down. “Yes, definitely, wala na kong mahihiling pa. Inaasikaso ko ang pag aaral ko, as a role model. Kung may love life, ok lang”, Sarah answered when asked if she’s willing to wait for the right man.

Plot

In this comedy, Judy Ann stars as Maria Rica and Sarah is Maria Cecilia, daughters of public school teachers turned OFW. Left in the care of their Lola Gerty (Gina Pareño), Rica and Cecilia grow up in Bocaue, Bulacan, where they help look after the family’s firecracker business. The two girls are inseparable. Rica takes her role as the big sister seriously, to the point of breaking up with her boyfriend, Bong (JC DeVera), and vowing to devote her life taking care of Cecil when the latter is hurt in a minor accident.
Ten years come to pass and their parents return home. The family moves to Manila. Rica, though an Accounting Major graduate, chooses to sell jewelry instead of getting a professional job. Cecil, on the other hand, works as a sales clerk in a video store and a promodizer of magic sing. She meets Edsel (Luis Manzano), an insurance sales agent. Rica, sensing that the two are attracted to each other tries hard to keep them apart. Cecil, wanting to make Rica happy, tracks down Bong, but the result is the exact opposite. Rica feels betrayed, especially when she learns that her baby sister is already in a relationship. She ups and leaves. Now it’s Cecil who has to find a way to fix this.
