LIFE & CAREER OF SARAH GERONIMO
When You Wish Upon A Star

Credits: www.sarahgeronimo.com

Sarah Geronimo's rise to fame is one of the most celebrated Cinderella stories in show business. Her modern day rags-to-riches tale continuously inspires thousands to dare to dream, to work hard, to keep believing, and to never say never.

Sarah Geronimo (Sarah Asher Tua Geronimo), the Philippines' talented and charming Popstar Princess, was born on July 25, 1988 to Delfin Geronimo and Divina Geronimo. The third of four children, her siblings are Joanna Rizzie, Sunshine Grace and Ezekiel Gabriel. Sarah grew up in a rented house in Sta. Cruz, Manila, living modestly as her father worked as a PLDT lineman and her mom kept a salon.

At the very young age of 2, Sarah precociously demonstrated a good sense of timing and vocal potential. She could barely utter the words correctly, but Delfin took notice of Sarah's innate penchant for singing. A couple of years later, it became apparent to the family how seriously she wanted to conquer the stage. While the hands of other girls were preoccupied with prized Barbie dolls, hers were firmly cradling a microphone.

When Sarah was 6, she joined a singing contest sponsored by PLDT called Tuklas Talino. Singing in a contest for the first time, she performed The Greatest Performance of My Life and won first prize. Nanette Inventor, a prominent member of the entertainement industry, was one of the judges. She was particularly impressed by Sarah's voice, saying she did not expect that kind of voice to come from a very young child. That victory was her first in a string of first-place finishes in several singing contests sponsored by notable companies.

While other kids spent their days on the playground, Sarah was already determined to participate in more talent shows. Divine would accompany her to auditions, and it was common for them to get a callback, but the offers were mostly for the less significant bit parts. Sarah became part of the Pen Pen De Sarapen cast. In a kiddie movie entitled Sarah, ang Munting Prinsesa, she was cast for a supporting role. She also appeared in the "tweeners" afternoon variety show AngTV on the ABS-CBN network. However, the spotlight seldom landed on her. Despite that, she was always happy just to perform and be able to sing, dance and act. Even at this early stage of her career, she already exhibited extraordinary passion for her craft, and the traits associated with it -- wanting to improve, taking criticisms constructively, and always eager to learn. What she lacked in the glamor of her audition dresses and shoes, she more than made up with talent and determination.

To hone Sarah's skills, Delfin trained her himself for several hours everyday. Mimicking the way Regine Velasquez was trained by her dad by having her sing while submerged neck-deep in the sea, Sarah trained in a makeshift water barrel.

But even with training and talent, she still couldn't seem to find that crack in the wall to break through. When the family business went bankrupt, they found it harder to sustain the expenses of her auditions. Divine resorted to saving the smallest of loose change so they will have jeepney fare for the auditions. Any other individual with weaker resolve would have lost heart. Life was arduous, but the Geronimos bravely plowed on.

In addition to her prowess on the stage, Sarah was a very diligent student at the Dominican School in Lacson Avenue, Manila. Good education was one of the intangible things that their parents wanted to impart to them, and this value was deeply instilled in the Geronimo kids. Sarah's parents would even borrow money so they could send the kids to good and reputable schools. After graduating from elementary school, Sarah continued secondary study at the University of Santo Tomas Education High School. Her friends from high school considered her a class clown. Out of nowhere, she would erupt into a song or a joke, that would send her friends laughing. Her zest for life and engaging, contagious smile easily won people over. She also loves to draw and sketch, and is actually a bookworm. One of her favorite book characters was Harry Potter. On any given day, Sarah was just a teenager enjoying her youth. Apart from usual teenagers though, her concern for her family made her years wiser than her age.

At one point in the Geronimos' lives, they were knee-deep in financial trouble. All at once, there was a sickness in the family, they were being driven out of their house because they could no longer pay the rent, they do not have the tuition money to sustain their education, and making ends meet simply became an impossible feat. Sarah, for her part, wanted to help by joining a nationwide singing contest where a million pesos is part of the grand prize. This was the Star For A Night competition which was hosted by none other than Sarah's idol, Regine Velasquez. Sarah was determined to help with the finances using her God-given talents.

The climb was not easy. Sarah could not picture herself winning the competition after observing the sheer intensity of the other artists she was competing against. However, it was a different story when she stepped on stage and held the microphone. All her insecurities melted and she belted the Celine Dion song To Love You More. She was at the top of her game; in her element. At that very moment when she flung her arms up in the air for the finale, the judges saw in her a star-in-the-making. She won the grand prize of 1 million pesos and an exclusive 10-year contract with Viva Entertainment Group. Mr. Vicente del Rosario, the revered "Boss Vic" of the industry, managed Sarah's career firsthand. This was the big break that she had been dreaming of.

When things settled down after memorable victory, Sarah took care of a few priorities first. She paid off their family debt with the prize money. They had enough left over to pay the hospital bills and their tuition fees. They were able to afford rent and were relieved that they would not be sleeping on the streets. By the time everything was settled, there was no money left for luxury. With no rest in mind, she decided that it was time to work. Her motivation for work was not just for financial stability, but she wanted to soar towards fulfilling her dreams.

After winning as the grand champion of the Star For A Night talent show, Sarah started recording her first album, "Popstar: A Dream Come True" (2003). This album eventually went on to a record of 7 times platinum, reflecting 210,000+ copies sold. Her follow up album, "Sweet Sixteen" (2004) was a certified 3 times platinum. The highly anticipated "Becoming" (2006) album was released internationally, and reached platinum record just a month after its release. The success was followed by "Taking Flight" (2007) which was awarded 2 times platinum, and "Just Me" (2008) which was her second internationally-released album. Included in this album is Sarah's collaboration with one of the BackStreet Boys members, Howie Dorough. She's a big fan of BSB, so when Howie D flew from the US to attend the album launch at the SM Mall of Asia, Sarah was more than ecstatic and grateful. Sarah's latest is "OPM" (2008) which showcased home-grown songs from movies and tv, as well as her past albums. It is a certified platinum as well.

Sarah also signed a contract with ABS-CBN in 2004 and was immediately given her own starring tv series, "Sarah, The Teen Princess" (2004). With ABS-CBN's line up of weekly shows, Sarah was able to hone her acting skills by guesting in several shows like "Your Song", "Love Spell", "Maalaala Mo Kaya", and lighter shows like "John en Shirley", "Wansapanataym", "Yes Yes Show", and "That's My Doc", among others. Eventually, her next starring tv series was launched, "Bituing Walang Ningning" (2006), which earned her praises from critics. The following year, "Pangarap na Bituin" (2007) was conceptualized, and Sarah delivered brilliantly. The last teleserye seemed to have reckoned that the time is right for Sarah to have her own movie.

Although she's starred in supporting yet more defined roles in movies like "Lastikman" (2004), "Annie B" (2004), "Captain Barbell" (2003), and the star-studded "Filipinas" (2003), Sarah is yet to star in her own debut film. The time has come when the script for "A Very Special Love" (2008) was written specifically with her in mind as the lead female role. Fans and critics alike all gushed about how natural and impressive Sarah's acting is. The movie became the ticket for Sarah in winning the Box Office Queen title for 2008 by the prestigious Guillermo Mendoza Memoial Scholarship Award. The movie was shown in theatre for weeks and immediately catapulted to #3 Highest Grossing Movie in the Philippines of All-Time. Following the heels of the movie's success, the sequel "You Changed My Life" (2009) was released and became the #1 Highest Grossing Movie in the Philippines of All-Time.

On tv, ABS-CBN's variety show ASAP (All-star Sunday Afternoon Party) welcomed her with open arms in 2004, and Sarah has since then been dazzling audiences young and old. She always brings something new to the table, that the show gave her her own segment "The Other Side of Sarah", which was later renamed to "Sarah On Stage". On ASAP, she also shows capacity in carrying out spiels, most likely honed when she did hosting jobs for Search For Star In A Million, Little Big Star and the Little Big SuperStar.

And on stage, where her talents were initially recognized, Sarah has filled up venues both in her native homeland and abroad. Her first concert at the Aliw Theatre entitled "Popstar: A Dream Come True" (2003) gave her the first taste of a standing ovation by an entire crowd. The warm reception of the fans boosted Viva Concert's confidence that she can fill up The Big Dome. And they were not mistaken. Her first concert at the Araneta Coliseum, entitled "The Other Side of Sarah Geronimo" (2005), was a sold out concert. Sarah's supporters stayed until the end of the concert despite the fact that The Dome became one huge oven when the air conditioning units failed to function. A young yet energetic Sarah performed like there's no tomorrow, much to the delight of the fans who seemed to have forgotten about the technical problems. That was the first time she filled The Big Dome to the rafters. The second time was at "Sarah Geronimo In Motion" (2007) where Sarah showed her prowess in singing and dancing.

In early 2008, Sarah once again reunited with Erik Santos, Rachelle Ann Go and Christian Bautista in a Valentine's Day concert at the Araneta Coliseum, entitled "OL4LUV". She had a concert entitled "Sarah Geronimo: The Next One" (2008), another sold out concert at The Big Dome, where she first played an instrument (a piano) as accompaniment. All 3 of her Araneta Coliseum soldout concerts were brought on tour to other countries around the world. She has wowed both Filipinos and foreigners alike, and her soldout tours speak for themselves that Sarah indeed has arrived.

Before Geronimo release her fifth studio album, she released "I'll Be Here" as the fourth and final single of Taking Flight. She collaborated with Backstreet Boys member Howie Dorough, in the song "I'll Be There" produced by Christian de Walden and it will be included in her upcoming album Just Me. Her fifth studio album Just Me was re-released, adding You Changed My Life. Also this same year, she has formed a collaboration/singing group with fellow ABS-CBN champions, Rachelle Ann Go (Search For A Star) and Yeng Constantino (Pinoy Dream Academy Year 1). This group is called YRS (Yeng, Rachelle and Sarah).

In mid-2009 she recorded the theme song of Sunsilk, "Record Breaker." She also released her 3rd single "Dahil Minahal Mo Ako" from the album, Just Me. It dominated the charts and on television. August 5, 2009 she sang Virna Lisa's "Magkaisa" at the burial of former President Corazon Aquino.

Sarah Geronimo performed the theme song of the movie "In My Life" entitled Something New In My Life starring John Lloyd Cruz, Luis Manzano & Vilma Santos and became the carrier single of Sarah's 2nd Mini Album "In My Life"

In November 7, 2009, she'll return to Araneta Coliseum for her fourth major concert entitled, "Record Breaker". She's also scheduled to be the 2009 MYX Celebrity VJ for the month of November.

Geronimo just released her first solo Christmas album entitled Your Christmas Girl, where she rendred her rendition of "Give Love On Christmas Day" last October 25, 2009. As announced (by herself) on ASAP '09 last October 25, 2009, her sixth studio album is slated for release on the first week of November 2009, which is entitled "Sarah Geronimo: Music and Me" . It said to be that it will be a full-English-pop album and still under the record label of Viva Records, Philippines.

To date, Sarah is one of the most sought after endorsers of products, services, even government offices and public servants wanting to run for office. She conquered the different media for ads: tv, radio, print, billboards. Because of this, she is also dubbed as the biggest MultiMedia Superstar, transcending different media to reach the general public. With over 60 awards and recognitions to date, and thousands of screaming fans, Sarah is considered a phenomenon in the industry.

One may say that Sarah is very lucky. She is indeed. But it was not all luck. There were tears and trials and heartaches and rejections. She has to make sacrifices as simple as not eating ice cream or chocolate to preserve her voice, to something as complicated as having to take home study and miss regular classes and everything that goes with it. It was her determination to move on, to never back down, that helped her get to where she is now.

Her deeply-rooted values gave her the strength to stay on top of the game. Most importantly, no matter how high Sarah soars, her feet remains planted on the ground. Always grateful to the Lord, always bringing Him glory in everything that she does.

    HATING KAPATID
SARAH GERONIMO & JUDY ANN SANTOS

Hating Kapatid the movie was great as we expected it to be. From the combination of the characters, punch lines thrown here and there and the award winning drama attained while also achieving scenes that brought the audience non-stop laughter, the movie will surely fit any age, state, or being.

    The Cast

All characters have played their roles with proper timing and proper internalization. The lead characters Rica and Cecilia played by Judy Ann and Sarah were a very good team up- Young Blockbuster princess Sarah worked well with the Young Super Star Judy Ann as their skills in acting have jived with their roles of strict and protective Ate Rica plus sweet and bubbly Cecilia. Both know how to make their audience laugh without looking like their jokes and reactions came out of nowhere. Just O-Natural!

Other characters such as Edsel(Luis Manzano) and Bong(JC de Vera) were the characters of romance that added a whole lot of kilig factor to the movie(and I must say the whole Cinema 10). You would hear all sorts of screaming because of these two guys’ appearances. Edsel(Luis) played a very big contribution to the comedy and fun of this movie, him being the love interest of the lead character Cecilia(Sarah). They had a one of a kind love team-up that isn’t your normal romantic movie chemistry. As for Rica(Judy Ann) and Bong’s(JC de Vera) love team has also been a good team-up although a lot of spectators gave comments that the Juday-JC tandem is quite a doubtful hit. But by watching the movie, we must say the cast was appropriately chosen. JC had a very strong and handsome aura every time he appeared seemed like there was a bright light in the screen, making him the guy candy of the movie.

Other characters such as Beauty(Vice Ganda), DJ Durano, Gina Pareno, Cherry Pie Picache and Tonton Gutierrez, are also to be applauded for the all-time good time acting performance. Beauty(Vice) was one laughing generator! Vice is known to be funny, seeing him regularly at his regular morning show Showtime, He does it again here in a different light, being the “yaya” of the two sisters in the film, Vice has contributed much comedy and his lines... boy his lines…are what you wouldn’t want to miss!

    Highlights

The movie is best for its humor freshly done and thrown out well with timing with scenes to expect such as Beauty’s (Vice Ganda) tactics on how to snag a guy on a 1st meeting, how the two sisters Rica’s superiority and possessiveness as the older sister was turned comedy, even Cecilia’s persistence to get a job and finding not only a job but her love interest! Edsel(Luis) has a lot to offer in this film and his acts and appearances will surely bring laughter every time he opens his mouth or makes a move.

Additional Highlights would be the arrival of the two girls’ parents, see how this situation will shake the two and the whole family in their journey into finding understanding, true love and a united family.

The movie touches on a serious issue to look into, which is the occurrence that children are being left behind by parents who go abroad to work and aim to give their children a better life. This movie tries to show a different point of view from the children’s side. How they are left with limited love and care, the pressure that the eldest endures trying to look after their younger siblings. The comedy isn’t just a matter of laughter but also a matter of love and the true meaning of family.

That would-be prince charming is none other than "Miggy", the youngest memeber of the Montenegro clan— a well established family in the business world. Moony Laida desire to finally meet Miggy leads her to apply as an Editorial Assistant at his newly launched men’s magazine, "Bachelor". In spite of the fact that a relationship with Miggy may prove to be a long shot, Laida revels working in such close proximity with the man of her dreams.

By some stroke of luck, Laida lands the job. Overwhelmed by being in the presence of her long–time crush and by her recently acquired career,
Laida remains blinded to the fact that the Miggy of her dreams is very different from the real one. In reality, he is an unapologetic, hothead who always thinks he's in the right. Everyone is scared of him with the exception of the love-stuck Laida, who adamantly defends him. Imperceptively, she caters to his every whim, even sending her in his absence on a date with his girlfriend, breaking her heart a little. Her colleagues question her unrelenting devotion to such a monster and when Laida continues to proves her loyalty to Miggy, gossip regarding her feelings for the boss starts to circulate. In an effort to deter being the subject of her officemates' blathering, a befuddled Laida unwittingly reveals intimate information regading Miggy’s personal life, thus earning her his ire. After being chastised by the despotic Miggy, Laida’s finally opens her eyes and sees him for the tyrant that he is.

The confrontation with Laida was a rude awakening for Miggy as well and he realizes why people are so put-off by him. No one has ever talked back to Miggy before, because no one dared; Miggy was always right and that’s how he likes it. But when a seeemingly simpleton like Laida, who unquestioningly does whatever she's told, has the audacity to tell him off to his face, Miggy begins to figure out that the reason for his past failures could actually be him. For the first time in his life, Miggy garners the gumption to apologize and this new-found humility opens up a whole new world of “firsts” for Miggy. With Laida's help, Miggy slowly learns to be more of a team player and the true value of loyalty.

Unfortunately, Miggy's transformation is an up-hill battle since his siblings keeps pulling him back to his old ways and it becomes apparent that not even Laida’s presence in his life can instantly diminish the strong hold Miggy's family has over him. Undaunted, Laida does everything she can to help Miggy, even at the cost of neglecting her own family. As Laida and Miggy’s fight to save the floundering magazine intensifies, so do their struggle to keep their intentions and emotions at bay. Will Laida and Miggy ever figure out the right combination to solve their problems in business and in their personal lives? Or will their conflicting personalities, despite their common interests and goals, keep them from acknowledging that they are meant to be together?

Laida Magtalas is a modern-day Belle who works hard to provide for her family while hoping that someday she will meet her prince charming and that they will live happily ever after together. That would-be prince charming is none other than "Miggy", the youngest member of the Montenegro clan — a well established family in the business world. Moony Laida's desire to finally meet Miggy leads her to apply as an Editorial Assistant at his newly launched men’s magazine, "Bachelor". In spite of the fact that a relationship with Miggy may prove to be a long shot, Laida revels working in such close proximity with the man of her dreams.

he film opens with Laida starting out her day for a job interview with Flippage, owned and manage by her crush Miguel " Miggy " Montenegro. a son of a wealthy and prominent business family ( later revealed in the sequel that the family mains business is in the airline and trade industry). Unbeknownst to her , on the day of her interview, Miggy was having a heated meeting with his creative team on the issue of the Bachelor, Flippage’s mens magazine. Miggy’s mean demeanor and undermining of both his friend and editors cause a walkout of half of the team. In the middle of the chaos laida was hired of the spot after she presented Miggy with coffee left by an attendant who also walked out after being screamed at. The coffee will be a symbolic part throughout the film as Laida would often put post it messages on the coffee cups that she serves Miggy.

By some stroke of luck, Laida lands the job. Overwhelmed by being in the presence of her long–time crush and by her recently acquired career, Laida remains blinded to the fact that the Miggy of her dreams is very different from the real one. In reality, he is an unapologetic, hothead who always thinks he's in the right and obsesses about nothing making his magazine number one. However the moment was short lived, as the next day after Laida made a suggestion in regards to an article content that Miggy should put for the magazine, Miggy publicly humiliates her and her knowledge of sex and questioned her virtue (virginity) in front of the staff by making her say the word “ Sex”. Miggy was later embarrassed himself after he realized that it was Laida who made the last minute call and effort to find a printing press to do a rush job on their magazines overhaul. After being chastised by the despotic Miggy, Laida’s finally opens her eyes and sees him for the tyrant he truly is.

The confrontation with Laida was a rude awakening for Miggy as well and he realizes why people are so put-off by him. Miggy then tries with much difficulty on his part of “apologize” in his own way to Laida. First by ordering pizza for the team and serving a slice himself to her. Which Laida ignores. Laida, now disenchanted with Miggy was called in by her officemates to go to Miggy’s condo to deliver the article drafts for approval much to her dismay. As well it was her mothers birthday. However upon arriving in Miggy’s apartment, she found Miggy high with fever with very little food or necessities in his apartment, with no househelp or family to care for him. Laida took care of Miggy, missing her own mothers birthday. Miggy woke up during a break in fever and saw the exhausted Laida next to him patting his back as a mother would to a sick child. This prompted Miggy to realize his feelings to Laida igniting a change in him and wishing Laida to be more closer to him as well as being more friendly with the rest of his team. The productivity and atmosphere of the company thus also changed in a positive note. Miggy also became comfortable enough to tell laida the truth behind his past, that he was an illegitimate child of his father later adopted to the main family after his mothers death. Thus his strong desire to prove himself to his father and brother. For the first time in his life, Miggy garners the gumption to apologize and this new-found humility opens up a whole new world of “firsts” for Miggy. With Laida's help, Miggy slowly learns to be more of a team player and the true value of loyalty.

    As a Performer

As far back as 1992, Sarah is already showing impressive vocals and moves in the kiddie show "Pen Pen de Sarapen". She was part of the cast for three years, and the two years that followed (1995-1996) gave her a spot in the tweens afternoon comedy/talent show, "AngTV" on ABS-CBN, as herself.

In 2003, immediately following her win as the Grand Champion of "Star For A Night", a talent search contest hosted by Regine Velasquez, Sarah had sporadic performances at (Channel 7) GMA's SOP, a Sunday afternoon variety show.

Since 2004 to present, you may catch Sarah every Sunday as a mainstay at the star-studded musical variety show "ASAP" (All-Star Sunday Afternoon Party), on ABS-CBN. Sarah performs in several segments of the show: Grand Face Off (usually with Erik Santos, Rachelle Ann Go and Christian Bautista), YRS (with Yeng Constantino and Rachelle Ann Go), and her own segment called SOS (Sarah On Stage) which was originally the TOS (The Other Side of Sarah) segment. She's also a crowd favorite for the introduction numbers, spiels, and specials and tributes. Past segments where she performs include the Champions Showdown and MR (Music Room). ASAP is directed by Johnny Manahan, also known as Mr.M of the tv world.

    As an Actress

Sarah, The Teen PrincessIn 2004, Sarah signed a contract with the TV network giant ABS-CBN (Channel 2), where she had her first project in acting by starring as Sarah Alagao in a light rom-com-drama tv series entitled "Sarah, The Teen Princess". The series was directed by Gilbert Perez, Jerome Pobocan and Eric Salud. Angelika Dela Cruz starred as Dorina's idol-turned-arch-nemesis Lavinia Arguelles, while Carlo Aquino starred as Dorina's childhood friend, Oman. She co-hosted the Search For Star in a Million for its first season which aired from March to May 2005. Her co-hosts were fellow Champions Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Mark Bautista, and Rachelle Ann Go.

On September of the same year, Sarah had another hosting stint in Little Big Star. She led the nationwide broadcast of the show from Manila, while Sheryn Regis led the Visayas broadcast from Cebu, and Nikki Bacolod for the Mindanao broadcast from Davao. After two seasons, ABS-CBN pulled the plug after the finale on July 2006.

This is the Pop Princess' third major concert and the second soldout one held at The Big Dome. Sarah surprised the jampacked crowd of Araneta with her dance moves and not-a-girl-not-yet-a-woman outfits. And that is beside the fact that she belted out several challenging songs that left the audience wanting to hear more of her powerful voice.

Sarah Geronimo is on her way to becoming independent
    Announcement - Posted by admin

    MG_5613.jpg

Ever since Sarah Geronimo entered the entertainment industry, she always had her whole family to support her. She is known for being a family-oriented person and an obedient daughter. Indeed, Sarah is a picture of a perfect daughter.

    MG_5608.jpg

Nevertheless, Sarah has reached the top spot in the showbiz world by listening to her parents’ advices. Most parents would agree that Sarah is a role model for the youth. And at 23 years old, the Popstar Princess admits that she still has a lot to learn in life.

    MG_5563.jpg

One of the things she hopes to acquire is independence. But for Sarah, being independent doesn’t mean moving out from her parents’ arms. She just wants to become more mature in the different aspects of her life.

    MG_5560.jpg

“Gustung-gusto. Napag-usapan po namin ng parents namin ‘yan. Gradually, it’s also one of my prayers na unti-unti. Hindi naman ‘yan maipilit, ‘di ba? Siguro unti-unti lang po para naman, 23, magle-level up ‘yung knowledge natin, ‘di ba, sa buhay, sa mundo.”

    MG_5553.jpg

Broadening her knowledge in life includes handling her own finances and learning how to cook. “Hindi ko pa kayang mag-solo at manirahan na mag-isa sa isang condo. Siguro mga simpleng bagay lang na dapat alam ko ng gawin tulad ng mag luto. Para mag-grow din ako, gusto kong matutong humawak ng pera.”

    MG_5482.jpg

Hence, last October 25, Sarah went to Cebuana Lhullier’s 24K launch as her simple step to manage her finances. There, she attended with Viva Entertainment’s Boss Vic Del Rosario of Viva, who stands as her father in the entertainment industry.

What financial tips can you advise to Sarah?

An Open Letter To Ms. Sarah Geronimo
Posted on July 19, 2010 by annaugust

    http://annaugust.wordpress.com/2010/07/19/an-open-letter-to-ms-sarah-geronimo/#comment-13%E2%80%9D

    Dear Ms Geronimo,

I sometimes wonder why I am such a fan of yours. I have never been an admirer of any celebrity, local or foreign, until you came. What is it about you that draws people from all ages and walks of life? I hear stories of mothers, daughters, grandmothers, even sons, fathers and grandfathers admiring you. From the banana cue vendor down the street to the Makati executive in her plush office, each of them have their own reasons and each of them have their own tales to tell.

Some may say that your beauty is not as stunning as your other peers in the business. For me, yours is the kind of beauty that the longer one looks, the more beautiful you become. Your face has this contrasting aura of openness and mystery. But what is more appealing is that you seem to be unaware of how beautiful you are. You don’t carry it in your head like the others do. And yet for all of these attributes, your beauty goes beyond the physical. You are truly the embodiment of the saying “beautiful inside and out”. Quite a number of people would describe your face as angelic. And I would have to agree. You have the heart of an angel and it reflects on your face, with the way you smile and with the way your eyes light up.

Others may also say that there are better singers compared to you. Yet you outshine them all. You sing with so much heart that not even the best sopranos in this world could make me choose them over you. Offstage, you are very self-effacing and even very shy given your superstar status. But when you go onstage, wow, the transformation is almost magical. As one TV host aptly put it “Parang sinasaniban si Sarah kapag nagpeperform”. You are such a joy to watch when you perform. You always have something new to offer every time. Fans and colleagues alike await your performances with eagerness and excitement. You once mentioned that you feel at home when you are on stage. And it shows with the kind of performances you give. When you perform, I hang on to every move you make lest I miss something spectacular that you did. I hardly bat an eyelash when you’re up, whether it be at a concert or on television.

Oh and did I mention the sound of your laughter? It is one of the most beautiful sounds one can hear. Amazing how it could lift me up when I feel down. How do I describe it? It is the kind that seems to spring from somewhere deep within you, somewhere full of love and kindness that it cannot help itself but well up. There is such a genuineness to your laughter, even a rawness to it that seemed untouched by the harshness of life.

Two years and two decades in this world. At twenty-two, you’ve accomplished so many things that most people in their lifetime could only dream of. Not a lot of twenty-two year olds could say that they have had multi-platinum albums, box office successes, sold-out concerts. . . . . and in just six years in the business! We can only imagine the things you will still accomplish ahead. Success can change people in so many ways. Yet for all the success you have achieved, you have remained essentially the same. You viewpoints on some things may have changed; your outlook and horizons may have widened; your heart may have gone through pain and hurt; you’ve been to many places, met different kinds of people, from the true ones to the false; you’ve accomplished so much in your career, from films, albums, concerts to endorsements, and yet if we dig down to your very core, you are still the same Sarah who sang “To Love You More” in a singing contest and captured our hearts. The things that matter most – your love for your family, your humility and good heart are still intact. You were able to preserve these values in a profession where one can easily lose them.

You always say thank you to your fans. You never fail to show your gratitude to us every time you have the opportunity. Now is my time to say Thank You Sarah. Thank you for sharing your talents and thank you for giving joy to your countless followers. One day I could proudly tell my grandchildren that there was a time when someone with a name of Sarah Geronimo touched the lives of so many people. Not only with her loveliness and talent, but more so with the beauty of her heart.

    Happy 22nd birthday Asher.

    Happy Birthday Asher!
Posted on July 25, 2010 by mortalfan

    http://mortalfan.wordpress.com/2010/07/25/happy-birthday-asher/

    Asher,

Words are not enough to describe how thankful we are for having you in our lives.
You made our days more meaningful and full of joy and inspiration.
Thanks to your parents, Daddy Delfin and Mommy Divine for bringing
you out in this world and to you for sharing your journey with us. You were born to be loved Sarah, you were born to become the Blessed Princess as what your name means, and you were born to touch people lives and make them realize how beautiful the world is by sharing you music, passion and values.

You are the only performer I have learned to love and adore for so many years. There is something in you that i can relate, something until now I couldn’t explain and something in your heart I feel pure and sincere. Your aura is so good and light that brightens up our day. Thanks also to technology for having Youtube and sarahgeronimo.com for the videos, because I always start my day by watching your videos to create a positive vibes in me. You may not even know that most of us starts our day by watching your videos, checking your twitter account for your updates and greetings that will make our day
and exploring your sites to check for new pictures, videos and stories about you.

Our Sundays are not even complete without watching your amazing & jaw-dropping performances in ASAP XV. You continue to mesmerize each and everyone of us everytime you are on stage, taking the spot and showing the other side of yourself. We love the passion, emotion and sometimes the “bungisngis” in the middle of your production number. At the end of the day, you simply go back into a simple you, the gal we love 7 years ago and will continue loving till the curtains are down.

You may not be the best singer in the world, nor the greatest performer of all time, but you are the kindest, genuine and talented perfomer in the Popsters’ hearts and everybody who truly loves you.

Happy Birthday Sarah! May the Lord God always fill your heart with purity, humility, sincerity, joy, faith and love for your parents, siblings, friends, supporters and GOD.

God bless you Sarah. Thank you for the music.

    We love you so much!
