How did this admiration get into my head anyway...first things first:
1. When did it start? ...kind of a long somehow funny testimonial…
I don’t really remember the exact date the first time I saw Sarah on TV, I just remembered that it was the day her life story was aired on GMA-7. I am a certified Kapamilya since birth, I don’t really watch other channels except for the animes but that night I happened to switch the channel to GMA-7, my eyes were captured seeing Kyla acting on TV. It was new for me to see her act and I also happen to like her voice…so I decided to watch Magpakailanman instead. I never knew Sarah was the one who sang my favorite radio hit To Love You More..really..until I watched the whole episode…Sorry, I’m so focused in my studies also so I don’t really know such things..I listen to the radio but never mind the artist at all…I just appreciate great voices.
At first, I thought it was Kyla’s life story. I was shocked about her poor life, disappointments…got inspired with her determination. So I finished the episode. And in the end, Mel Tiangco interviewed a young girl? Huh? It’s not Kyla’s. Then clips of her winning moment in SFAN…with Miss Regine? I was really clueless and finally discovered that it was aired in IBC-13. Sarah was so simple at that time..very very simple..she was a kid I think..but a millionaire…whoa…that’s all I remembered about her. I don’t drew much attention to her at that time...though I knew she was becoming that famous with her hits.
Then…I got burn out from high school, lots of homework, tests, projects…I am indulging into so many things that I don’t feel young anymore…I see my classmates go out..gimiks…with their special someones…jeez..but I just can’t…I was always pointed out as the group leader..can’t turn it down coz I knew my classmates depend on me...If I’m not the leader otherwise they won’t do the project with needed dedication…well…I need good grades..Yes..unto martyrdom..huhuhu…So voila! to ease my burdens, I decided to watch the movie Captain Barbell..because of Regine also..I love her being kikay in her past movies plus the singing parts of the movie..
It was these scenes in captain barbell – those scenes of Sarah..I don’t know but I felt her..She was so charming to catch up my attention..especially whenever she smiles… Now, she’s in my head. After few moments of having watched the movie my brother shouted..â€Sarah is now a Kapamilya! Look at the preview, hurry up!†It was unusual for me to get that excited..to think there were just few reasons Sarah stayed in my head…but seeing Sarah on the preview saying..â€masayang masaya ako dahil kapamilya na ako!†I was very happy I even leapt with joy! Kinda weird, I don’t know her that much but I’m excited huh? I tend to smile whenever I see the preview of her soap..kinda make fun of how she said the lines and smile..I look awkward doing those things and I can’t help wanting to see that preview over and over again..
Then she got herself a stint in ASAP, at first I even said who’s that girl? When I heard her.. Gosh..It was Sarah singing super high notes as she was welcomed. Me and my mother..can’t believe it was her..she looked too young for that prowess. Then I kinda asked my mom, is she great? My mom sings at our church so for me, she knows if you really know how to sing. Why do you think ABS got her a big break?.Mother said she’s pretty and she has a wonderful voice…talent isn’t it? Plus..simple and respectful..calling everyone ate or kuya.
That was the first days of my admiration…I got to read articles about her…knew her achievements…then I am hooked in watching ASAP because I got this feeling of longing to see her perform.
I never wanted to be like this before...getting crazy about pinoy celebrities…stuffs..I think it was just a waste of my time…I said before..pinoy fans are too much fanatic and I never got to understand that feeling...I even said I’ll never do crazy things for the sake of being fanatic†Guess I’m wrong…yup..very much wrong! Look at me now, what I’m doing…tsk tsk tsk..Going back>>But still..there’s a feeling of wanting Sarah...she’s so irresistible that’s why…so I never stopped watching ASAP…interviews followed...documentaries about her..I watched them all!
But with this Aliw Concert..Sarah to love her more…it was a musical special for Sarah on ABS...I watched it too...was amazed, she was awesome, seeing sarah – I’m of the same age…doing wonderful…in front of those people…all for the love for her family…I felt happy…and think of my usual tasks..compared to her burden? Nothing. and I cried..huh? Yes..because I knew it was really the start of something...something I never experienced or felt before. I even prayed, I pray that I’ll be deciding to admire Sarah but not too much..too much to love her above all. Yes…until now it was in my head..Yeah, I do love...admire Sarah..but still, God first. That should always be, right? And I thank God for giving Sarah as one of my inspirations.
Nowadays…I can admit that I am truly a fan – an avid fan. Now I understand those screaming people and I don’t think now it’s a waste of time…giving in to your feelings..your likes..your admiration…having things balanced and not too much.
You know what, as I was writing this and having thought of words to end this long story..what I think is that...everybody here has a missing part in their lives...we tend to look for it everywhere...in everything we used to do…but the bottomline is...we found the missing piece of us in Sarah…and we’re just giving back the support and love Sarah deserves for completing us…
More feelings to come…it’s really nice to reminisce treasures.
